June Layouts...

Yesterday was the last day of june and it was bothering me that I haven't made a single page this month. So at 11:00 pm in the night I quickly made two pages.
It fulfills my commitment club requirement at Croppers Cottage so it was really important for me that I make these pages...

The first one is of Daddy and Somu, pictures taken 3 years apart...

The perfect journalling was of course by Daddy. Here's what he wrote:
Tender feelings, fervent desires, a wish granted and a new start.
A sylph from heavens, shed her wings, cried then smiled and became my part.
Sometimes I carry you in my arms, for the rest... you smile in my heart.

This next LO is my latest favorite picture of DH, taken by me during our recent Cancun trip. I wanted it to be the focus and just did a single photo Layout.

It was a berry nice day

We went strawberry picking this morning. It was partly cloudy and the sunlight was sieving through the clouds. It was just about perfect for picking strawberry and having a picnic. We made it back to the hay-ride fine but while waiting for other passengers got drenched in the rain. Here are some pictures:

Both girls loved the berries and kept eating them till it was all gone. I refrained myself from eating too many even though they talk about antioxidants and fibers.

Then this evening, I painted my thumb green and spent some time with my long neglected plants. I had a few seeds lying around the house and I seeded them today though I don't know if its the right season for them...

Cupcakes + Photo Cube...

Sharing a few recent projects...
Cupcakes cards.
I made these as part of a birthday card swap, I really like the way they turned out and it wasn't too hard to make either.

A little photo cube that I made for my daughter's teacher with her family pictures, another easy to put together project...

Gotta love good service

That is on top of good quality. I uploaded almost 150 pictures from my Mexico trip to Scrapbookpictures.com on the 17th night to get a really good deal on photo printing (12 cents). On the site it says that processing time may be more than usual because of the special promotion, so I wasn’t expecting a package back soon but guess what, my package was in my mail box on Saturday, the 21st. That was fast...
Their packaging and shipping rates are wonderful too.
I sometimes print pictures at home or send them to Walgreen’s for one-hour developing but if I am looking for quality, I always trust scrapbook pictures. Their metallic prints works wonderful for wall portraits and the variety of borders/frames, the print size options are unbeatable.
I think I should stop praising them lest someone would think I am getting paid for doing so.

Since we are talking about picture printing services, another site to try is itasveer.com.
It’s a business based in India and works great for me if I need to send pictures to family in India. They have a cool interface with Picasa.com and Flickr.com so you don’t need to upload your pictures separately, you can pick pictures to print from your Picasa/Flickr album and it gets delivered in two days. They use courier service rather than regular postal department and the nicest thing about them is that they call to make sure you are home before they come out to deliver your pictures.
I really like it; it has made sharing pictures a breeze...

Okay enough advertising, turning off my idiot box (slang for television, in case you don’t know)....

Look for some project posts in the near future...

Wandering through thoughts of Mexico...

Some thoughts of Mexico as I revisited it in my thoughts and through my pictures

-Although there are pictures of me taken on the Cancun trip, this is my only beach picture(and for once I am not angry at DH for this gross negligence).

-People in Mexico are very helpful and genuinely good-hearted.

-Tips are a big thing there, with tips basket in the restroom too, weird...

-Both kids love sand but hate the splashing waves, they love the pool though

-Divi and Mexicans have some special connection; I didn’t find a single soul there who didn’t at least smile at her, most people talked to her, some picked her up and carried her around and almost everybody gave special incentive to her family because of her.

-I am a foodie, I just can’t say no to good food, my favorite on the trip was pan seared fish with rice pilaf and fresh salsa

-Tourists there wear proper clothes only when they need to eat, otherwise they are in bikinis all the time and carry their shorts, tank-top and flip-flops in the beach bag.

Sunburn takes more than two weeks to fade away.

I want to save money so that some day I can afford a home on the beach

I have to remember to not send our kids to Mexico with friends when they are teenagers...
